Breastfeeding can be very demanding and costly, and sometimes you just need a break. If you're a nursing mom, you'll be happy to know that the IRS is here to save you and it couldn't have come at a more perfect time...tax season!
A new tax break has added breast pumps and other supplies to the list of tax deductible items. Breastfeeding women can now spend as much as $1,000 each year on nursing supplies thanks to the American Academy of Pediatrics and other advocates that pushed to have these items recognized as medical expenses.
If you haven't filed your taxes yet, be sure to tally up all those supplies purchased during 2014!
