"Today was a realization that everything you dream, everything that you speak, and everything you put your mind to, can, and will become reality…."
It's not too often that you stumble upon someone who has already established a successful career by the age of 25. One of those rare gems is Brittany Hampton, a professional Fashion Stylist who was recently selected as the Global Brand Ambassador for Diane Von Furstenburg (DVF). Previously, Hampton gained respect and noteriety as a stylist for young Hollywood talent such as Arianna Grande, Jennette McCurdy and Cymphonique Miller. Her impressive resume includes consulting celebrities, press events, red carpet affairs, advertising campaigns, commercials, TV show pilots, gallery shoots, and runway shows.
A San Francisco native, Hampton fell in love with fashion at the age of 5 and was doing runway, commercial and print modeling for top fashion brands by the time she was 6 years-old. After being inspired by her designer grandmother, Crisanta Malig, a well-known fashion designer, Hampton launched a small but successful line of her own by designing and creating custom outfits for young women. Hampton eventually decided to perfect her craft and pursued a degree in Fashion Design at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in San Francisco. After receiving her degree, she moved to Los Angeles and worked as a junior booker assisting the head of women’s division at Ford Models. Shortly after joining the team, the agents insisted that she styled for their model's test shoots. In addition to working for Ford, she assisted in styling fashion shows such as Macy's Passport, Saks Fifth Ave, Nordstrom Fall Preview shows, and editorial shoots such as Vanity Fair and Entertainment Weekly. In 2012, Hampton became the first In-House stylist at MTV Networks for Nickelodeon in Santa Monica as the consultant and Head Stylist for Nickelodeon nationwide.
Last year, Hampton claimed the victory on E! Network's "House of DVF" a search for bold and business savvy young women with fashion chops who compete for the role of representing DVF at cultural happenings, store openings, premiere fashion events and more. Upon Brittany's win, Diane shared her initial impression of Brittany with E! "The first time I saw Brittany, it was at the DVF Awards at the United Nations," Diane said. "She was beautiful in a long red dress and she was giving the awards out and I thought, 'Who is this pretty girl?' I didn't realize that she was one of the candidates because that was the first time I met all of them. She made a very good impression and I watched her from afar because I felt that she was the most equipped and had the most experience. Then after I met her mother and grandmother, I knew I had made the right choice. Her gramdmother came from the Philppines all alone with six kids, started a sewing business, does philanthropy and is an amazing woman. It's in her genes to work and I knew when I met the other women in the family that I had made the right decision."
